Changing the way we understand and treat kidney disease. Together.

"The work that was done, happened 56 years ago when they came up with dialysis etc." —Glenda Roberts, Patient Advocate, Director of External Relations & Patient Engagement, Kidney Research Institute, University of Washington

The Kidney Precision Medicine Project (KPMP) is an ambitious, multi-year project funded by the NIDDK with the purpose of understanding and finding new ways to treat chronic kidney disease (CKD) and acute kidney injury (AKI).

"It's no wonder the outcomes aren't good—because we aren't targeting what's really wrong with the patient—we're really just treating something that's a consequence of much more complex processes." —Katherine Tuttle, MD | Co-Chair, KPMP Community Engagement Group Nephrologist, Provindence Health Care

Together with our patient representatives, researchers, and clinicians, the KPMP consortium is committed to meet the goals of the study and the needs of the kidney disease community.
